Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, has announced plans to extend the duration of basic combined arms training. The project, set to begin in October-November, aims to improve the quality of military training across the country.
Syrskyi shared details of the initiative following a high-level meeting with military leaders and training center heads. The focus will be on enhancing training programs and ensuring that instructors are highly skilled, potentially leading to the establishment of a dedicated School of Instructors.
This extension of training is part of a broader strategy to prepare all Ukrainian men aged 18 to 24 for military service starting September 2025, with women having the option to participate. The revamped curriculum will include a three-month basic training period, with one month dedicated to combined arms training and two months to specialized instruction.
