Four servals, which zoo activists took out of the Russian-occupied city of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region last year and transferred to KyivZoo, underwent treatment, rehabilitation and socialization. This was reported by the Kyiv Zoo.

According to zoo specialists, the animals were in a terrible condition: sick, exhausted and experiencing severe stress. During this year, they have gone through a long path of treatment, rehabilitation and socialization. After all, in addition to physical treatment, the seals needed to restore their disturbed psycho-emotional balance.

“And now the spotted Osiris, Sekhmet, Horus and Isis have settled into their new comfortable homes. They are equipped with: African trees with climbing frames and claws, hammocks, cozy lofts for relaxation, drinking fountains, different types of soil and stone rocks for walking and jumping. And there are also a lot of different toys and pillows for cat entertainment,” the KyivZoo post says.

To bring the conditions closer to natural ones, 3 types of lighting have been installed in the enclosures: solar-daylight, twilight-infrared, and night moonlight.

You can watch the recovery of rescued servals on the Island of Animals.
