160,000 people planned to be drafted into Ukrainian forces, National Security and Defense Council head says

A further 160,000 people are to be drafted into the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will raise the manning of units to 85%, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Lytvynenko said during a session of the Ukrainian parliament. According to Lytvynenko, 1,000,050 citizens have been drafted into the military so far since the beginning of martial law.

Near Selidove, Russian military shot two captured Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers – investigation launched

The Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal investigation into the killings of two unarmed Ukrainian POWs by the Russian Armed Forces. The executions were said to have happened near the city of Selidove in the Donetsk Oblast. The two Ukrainian soldiers were believed to have been placed face down with their feet pressed to the ground before being shot at close range by automatic weapons.

Environmental Security: the Sixth Conference in Continuation of the First Peace Summit Was Held in Helsinki

Finland hosted a meeting dedicated to the 8th point of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, Environmental Security, at Ukraine’s request. The conference was held in hybrid and attended by representatives from 60 countries. The Joint Communiqué on strengthening environmental security in Ukraine published in connection with the conference stresses that it is important to assess and repair the damages caused by the war and that those guilty of crimes must be held accountable. The objective of the conference was to promote the reconstruction of Ukraine per the principles of sustainable development and the green transition.

Neutral Switzerland signs declaration to join European Sky Shield initiative

Switzerland has become the 15th member of the European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI), a project which seeks to build a unified air and missile defence system across Europe. The system was initiated by Germany following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and was designed to allow European countries to purchase defence systems together and train together.
