The Made in Ukraine Business Forum took place in Kyiv on 11 October 2024, organized by the UNDP in partnership with the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, with support from Japan. The forum aims to provide Ukrainian entrepreneurs with insights into the national “Made in Ukraine” policy launched in February.<\/p>\n

Key features include a trade fair, workshops, networking opportunities, and discussions on supporting business initiatives. Key speakers included Yuliia Svyrydenko, who emphasized transitioning to a production-based economy, and Matsuda Kuninori from Japan, who reaffirmed Japan’s US$12 billion commitment to support Ukraine’s economic climate.<\/p>\n

Despite the challenges faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) due to the war, including significant drops in operational capacity and workforce shortages, over 1,500 entrepreneurs have received UNDP grants, leading to job creation. The forum builds on the legacy of the East Expo exhibition, evolving into a national platform for business development in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
