On the night of September 19, the city of Kharkiv was rocked by a series of missile and air strikes launched by Russian forces, resulting in damage to 40 buildings across the city. The Kharkiv City Council, reporting through Telegram, detailed the scope of the destruction, noting that the Industrial, Shevchenkivskyi, and Saltivskyi districts were the primary targets.
The strikes shattered 380 windows in residential apartments and another 135 in public facilities, leaving debris scattered across streets and neighborhoods. Local utility workers from Kharkivblagoustrii were quick to respond, removing broken glass, fallen branches, and bulky debris. Despite the widespread damage, 94 windows have already been replaced as part of the ongoing recovery efforts.
The attacks occurred in two waves. Around midnight, Russian forces launched missiles from S-300 systems, striking the Shevchenkivskyi district. The second wave hit at 4:50 a.m., involving three guided aerial bombs.
