Ukraine’s agricultural exports have seen significant growth in 2024, with the nation exceeding pre-war levels. The total value of agricultural exports stood at USD 24.5 billion, accounting for approximately 59% of the country’s total export value.

According to the Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, the country’s agricultural sector achieved this remarkable milestone after exporting a total of 78.3 million tonnes of products.

Sunflower oil emerged as the leading agricultural product, making up 21% of exports, with 5.9 million tonnes worth approximately USD 5.1 billion. It is closely followed by corn, which accounted for 21% of agricultural exports, totaling 29.6 million tonnes worth USD 5 billion. Wheat ranked third, with a share of 15%, representing 20.6 million tonnes worth approximately USD 3.7 billion.

Other prominent agricultural products included rapeseed, accounting for 7% of exports at 3.8 million tonnes, worth USD 1.8 billion; soybeans with 5% at 3.4 million tonnes, worth USD 1.3 billion; and cake and residues from vegetable fats and oils, which made up 4%, at 4.7 million tonnes, worth approximately USD 1 billion.

Meat and edible poultry products comprised 4% of exports, totaling 447 thousand tonnes, valued at approximately USD 958 million. In addition, exports of barley and sugar contributed approximately 2% each to the country’s agricultural exports, with 3.3 million tonnes of barley and 746 thousand tonnes of sugar worth USD 557 million and USD 418 million, respectively.
