A European Union (EU) spokesperson has raised concerns regarding reports that Russia is collaborating with China to develop an attack drone program for the Ukraine war. According to intelligence sources and documents reviewed, the Russian company IEMZ Kupol has created a new drone model, Garpiya-3 (G3), in China. The spokesperson, Nabila Massrali, noted that if these reports are true, it would indicate Chinese companies are providing lethal support to Russia, contradicting China’s stated position of not offering such assistance. The EU has consistently urged all nations, including China, to refrain from supporting Russia’s military efforts. In response, China’s foreign ministry denied knowledge of the project and emphasized its strict export controls on drones.
