Ukraine has expressed a strong interest in the immediate execution of three critical infrastructure and energy projects with Slovakia. These projects are set to be a central focus during the second round of joint government consultations in early October.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, following talks with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, emphasized the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s infrastructure, especially as the war has disrupted key transport routes. Sybiha highlighted three key projects: the modernization of the Mukacheve-Velke Kapusany energy interconnector, the launch of direct railway services between Kyiv and Kosice, and the expansion of the Uzhhorod-Vysne Nemecke border checkpoint.

These joint ventures are expected to enhance connectivity between the two nations, promoting regional stability and economic growth. The upcoming round of consultations will aim to finalize the details and kick-start the collaboration.
