On Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 09:39, the Ukrainian Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, shared insights during an interview with the channel ‘We \u2013 Ukraine,’ as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted the severe impact on the green energy sector, noting that the southern regions of Ukraine, which house the majority of the country’s renewable energy capacities, have been significantly affected. “We have lost approximately 90% of our wind energy and 45-50% of our solar energy. These are substantial losses,” Halushchenko stated.<\/p>\n

Despite these setbacks, the minister expressed optimism about Ukraine’s potential in renewable energy development, particularly in wind energy. He emphasized that Europe is interested in investing in this sector once the war concludes.<\/p>\n

Halushchenko mentioned that Ukraine had a strategy aiming for green energy to constitute at least 25% of the country’s energy balance by 2030. He suggested that following Ukraine’s victory and considering the destruction caused by Russia, this strategy might be revised to increase the target percentage.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, since October 10, Russia has been conducting extensive missile and kamikaze drone attacks on Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure. These attacks have damaged over 45 energy facilities, prompting Ukrenergo to implement electricity supply restrictions in central and northern Ukraine.<\/p>\n
