He said nearly 300,000 square kilometres were regarded as potentially contaminated.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of his briefing, crews had cleared about 620 square kilometres and dealt with thousands of explosive devices, including approximately 2,000 air-dropped bombs.<\/p>\n<p>The initial priorities were infrastructure, residential areas and roads. Clearing forests, rivers and the coastline would take longer, he said.
