Ukrzaliznytsia announced a free evacuation programme for Ukrainian citizens living in occupied Crimea, according to reports on September 3, 2022.
Railway chief Oleksandr Kamyshin said residents leaving the peninsula could use designated evacuation trains departing from Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Odesa. These were mainland departure hubs, not direct train services out of Crimea.
The programme offered free travel, hot meals en route, medical assistance and financial support through Ukrposhta. Kamyshin said he had inspected the stations in Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih as key evacuation points.
The announcement followed warnings for civilians to avoid military facilities amid explosions on the peninsula. It described arrangements available at the time; it should not be treated as a current timetable or present-day guarantee of safe access to the departure stations.
