According to a survey conducted by the Rating Sociological Group on April 6, approximately 80% of Ukrainians are involved in defending their country in some capacity. Financial contributions to national defense have increased, with 45% of respondents providing monetary support, compared to 39% in March 2022. Additionally, 35% engage in volunteer work and aid to civilians and military personnel, 18% participate in informational resistance, 13% work in critical infrastructure, and 3% are involved in territorial defense or serve as military personnel. A quarter of the population is unable to contribute.

The survey indicates a gradual return to work among Ukrainians. Of those employed before the war, 58% continue to work, up from 46% in March. Specifically, 29% are working as usual, 26% are working partially or remotely, and 3% have started new jobs. However, 41% have lost their jobs due to the war, a decrease from 53% in March. Employment is highest in western regions, whereas only a third of eastern residents are currently employed, with the remaining two-thirds having lost their jobs.

Relocation has affected 20% of the adult population, with the eastern regions seeing the highest displacement at 46%. Younger individuals are more likely to have relocated (31%), while only 13% of older adults have moved. Among those displaced, one-third plan to return soon, a quarter will wait a bit longer, and about 40% express willingness to return only after the war ends.

The survey also reveals high satisfaction with local governance and services, with nearly 80% approving of their local leaders, utilities, and police. Three-quarters are satisfied with healthcare services, and two-thirds with public transport and educational institutions.

The survey included 1,200 Ukrainian residents aged 18 and older from all regions except the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas. The sample is representative by age, gender, and settlement type. The survey was conducted using CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews), with a margin of error of no more than 2.8% at a 95% confidence level.
