The Permanent Mission of Ukraine to International Organizations in Vienna has informed Ukrinform’s correspondent about a significant diplomatic move. Ukraine has formally requested the Polish Chairmanship to convene a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council. This urgent appeal is in response to the heinous acts of mass killings and torture inflicted upon civilians by Russian soldiers in the Kyiv region, particularly in the town of Bucha.

According to reports from Ukrinform, the towns of Irpin, Bucha, Hostomel, and the entire Kyiv region have been liberated from enemy forces. In these liberated areas, evidence of mass civilian casualties at the hands of Russian troops has been documented. The situation is particularly dire in Bucha, where a mass grave containing nearly 300 bodies has been discovered. Additionally, the streets are strewn with numerous corpses, some of which bear signs of execution, such as bound hands.

These horrific discoveries have prompted Ukraine to seek international intervention and accountability through the OSCE, highlighting the urgent need for a coordinated response to these atrocities. The call for a special session underscores the gravity of the situation and the necessity for a comprehensive investigation into these war crimes.
