The White House has issued a stark warning regarding the potential use of chemical weapons by Russia in Ukraine or the possibility of a ‘false flag’ operation to blame Ukraine for such actions. This statement was made by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on her Twitter account, as reported by ‘European Pravda’.
Psaki dismissed Russia’s claims that the United States is allegedly developing chemical weapons in Ukraine as false. She emphasized the need for vigilance, noting that with Russia’s false assertions and apparent support from China for this propaganda, there is a real concern that Russia might employ chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine or orchestrate a false flag operation involving such weapons.
Furthermore, Psaki highlighted Russia’s ‘long and well-documented track record’ of using chemical weapons and its tendency to accuse the West of the very violations it commits itself. This pattern of behavior raises significant concerns about Russia’s intentions and potential actions in the ongoing conflict.
Prior to the Russian invasion, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had already warned about the possibility of chemical weapon attacks. In a related development, The Guardian, citing sources within the British government, reported that London fears Russia might fabricate a pretext to use chemical weapons in its war against Ukraine. This concern arises from the failure of Russia’s initial plan to occupy Ukraine and capture Kyiv swiftly.
